Meet the staff

Kelsey Jensen - Director/team Coach

Kelsey is the co-founder and director for the FM Fierce since the inaugural year in 2013. This year she is coaching the 15U team. Kelsey has been coaching basketball for almost a decade but has had a passion for basketball and sports all her life. She coached basketball at Oak Grove Lutheran High School from 2015-2021, currently coaches basketball at Capstone Academy and coaches girls’ golf at Davies High School. 

Kelsey works full time at Sanford Health as a Construction Project Manager overseeing hospital, clinic and office renovations. She graduated from NDSU with a BS in Environmental Design, Masters of Architecture and an MBA. 

Although passing on opportunities to play both college basketball and golf to pursue academics, Kelsey continued to utilize her athletic abilities in numerous city leagues including basketball, golf, hockey, softball and volleyball. In high school she was a four sport all-conference athlete playing basketball, golf, softball and volleyball. 

Kelsey currently lives in Fargo with her husband, Paul and two labrador retrievers, Diggity and Rusty. She enjoys many hobbies including golfing, training/competing in kayak races and triathlons, graphic design, traveling, hunting, fishing, volunteering, reading books/listening to podcast on leadership and business and spending time at the cabin on Big Cormorant Lake in the summer. 

The best part about coaching for Kelsey are the relationships formed and seeing players develop into great ballers but even better people! Kelsey is thankful for all the Fierce players and their families she has been able to meet over the years and get to know.

Jill Zaruba Hoffert - Team Coach

Jill is the co-founder of the FM Fierce, stay at home parent to four beautiful creative daughters, part time personal trainer and baker to Jill's Kitchen. She graduated from NDSU with a BS in Exercise Science in 2010.

Jill grew up in Monticello, MN. She was a three sport athlete, during her high school career she was All Conference for her three sports for four years. She continued her passion for basketball at NDSU where she played two years for Hall of Fame Coach Ruley and two years for Coach DeHoff.

When Jill does have downtime she enjoys playing any type of sport, going for bike rides and just being outside with her daughters. Jordan is 10, Alaina 7, Hannah 3 and CeCe 8 months and has been happily married for 12 years to her husband, Adam.

Jill enjoys giving back to the sport that created a safe place to destress and step back from everyday items.

Ally Tronson - Team Coach

Ally is in her fourth season with the FM Fierce program and this year coached the 17U team. Although she is just short of the 5 year coaching mark, Ally has been involved with sports her whole life and played college softball up until she began coaching with our program.


When not coaching, Ally is working on finishing her masters of law degree and paralegal certification at Webster University St. Louis and intends to graduate in December of 2022.
In 2013 she graduated from Central Cass High School and went on to play softball at both the University of North Dakota and Valley City State University, before graduating with a Project Management degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.


Ally continues to stay active and participate in city league athletics. She is thankful for all the opportunities and lessons she has learned throughout her athletic career and is excited to pass them on to the next generation. Her favorite thing about coaching is watching the girls reach their full potential and knowing she played a part in it.

Megan Haugrud - Team Coach

Megan is currently the 13U coach along with Taylor Persche. She is currently a Senior at Valley City State University studying Psychology with a minor in Coaching. She played basketball at VCSU for 2 years and currently plays golf. Megan graduated in 2019 from Moorhead High School, and played for the Spuds. She also played for the Fierce for 4 seasons. This is her 3rd season being a part of the Fierce coaching staff. Megan is excited to continue and help the program grow into something even greater!

Taylor Persche - Team Coach

Taylor Persche is one of the coaches for the 13u team. She played division II basketball at Saint Cloud State University from 2016-2020. She moved to Fargo,ND after undergrad to purse her doctorate in physical therapy through the University of Jamestown. After graduation she plans to work in orthopedics and sports medicine.

“I have found a passion for coaching and player development while coaching for FM fierce. I think it is so important for young ladies to have strong role models to look up to and I think that is one of the many things that makes this such a special program to be a part of!”

Morgan Kommer - Team Coach

Morgan is from Fargo and attended Fargo North high school where she played basketball. She is a current college student at Concordia where she played basketball for two seasons and loved it, but decided she needed more time to focus on academics. Morgan is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry and hopes to attend dental school after graduating from Concordia in 2023.

Morgan has coached multiple AAU teams in the past, has done private basketball lessons for three years, has helped with the basketball program at Horace high school and currently coaches the 8th grade girls’ team at Fargo North.

Outside of basketball Morgan enjoys wake surfing at the lake, running, cycling, Bible study, teaching confirmation, hanging with friends and family, and playing with her doodle named Banks! She also just got engaged this summer and is very excited for the wedding summer 2023!

Morgan has a passion for both basketball and working with kids and is excited to be a part of the Fierce program!

Adie Wagner - Skills Coach

Adie has been a part of the Fierce family since she was in junior high repping a Fierce jersey throughout her prep career. This year was Adie’s first season coaching for the Fierce. Adie is a versatile coach this season assisting with all teams breaking down drills and skills.

Adie is a ‘22 senior at Fargo South and is a three sport athlete playing basketball, softball and golf. Adie has earned many accolades in each sport. She is the all-time leading scorer at Fargo South with 2,227 points ranking her as the second all-time scorer in ND Class A state basketball history. She is also Fargo South’s all-time leader in three point shots with 314. This year she was named the ND EDC Senior Athlete of the Year, ND Class A Senior Athlete of the Year and was a finalist for the ND Miss Basketball title.

In the fall of ‘22 she will attend MSUM and will be a part of the the Dragon women’s basketball team and the golf team.
